‘Mission: Impossible–Dead Reckoning’ Trailer Teases Tom Cruise’s Wildest Stunts Yet

Tom Cruise is a movie star who famously loves to do his own stunts whenever possible. He recently talked about undergoing “the most intense film training ever” while filming Top Gun: Maverick, and his upcoming Mission : Impossible–Dead Reckoning promises to unleash an arsenal of high-octane stunts when it premieres in 2023.

Action fans got a sneak peak at the seventh entry in the spy thriller franchise when its first trailer dropped on Monday. Cruise returns as super spy Ethan Hunt, a special agent for the Impossible Missions Force (IMF). The trailer also teases the return of several other Mission: Impossible series cast members, including Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, and Vanessa Kirby.

In addition, the trailer shows the return of Henry Czerny, who appeared in the original 1996 Mission Impossible as IMF director Eugene Kittridge, showing a tense meeting between him and Cruise’s Hunt.

“Your days of fighting for the so-called ‘Greater Good’ are over,” Czerny says to Cruise in the trailer. “This is our chance to control the truth. The concepts of right and wrong, for everyone for centuries to come. You’re fighting to save an ideal that doesn’t exist. It never did. You need to pick a side.”

While the new trailer doesn’t reveal much in the way of the plot, we see snippets of Cruise beating up a bad guy, behind the wheel in a high-speed car chase, running on top of a train car, riding a horse through the desert, and other stalwarts of the action movie canon.

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One will be released in theaters on July 14, 2023. Watch the full trailer above.
