After years of behind-the-scenes conflict and drama, Natalie Portman’s Jane Got A Gun has risen from the ashes, and there’s a trailer to prove it.
Portman produces and stars in a western about a young wife and mother who enlists the help of an ex-lover to take vengeance on an outlaw gang who is trying to destroy her family. Ewan McGregor co-stars in a rare villain role, Joel Edgerton as the aforementioned ex-lover, and Noah Emmerich as the husband, Bill. Jane Got A Gun originally had Lynne Ramsay (Ratcatcher) attached to direct, but she abruptly left the production and was eventually replaced by Gavin O’Connor (Tumbleweeds, Pride and Glory.) Along the way, Jane Got A Gun also lost a star (one Jude Law) and a distributor before finally getting it together for a February release date. The polished trailer gives away none of the production stumbling blocks. Check it out:
