The Navy Made a Star Wars: Force Awakens Parody Trailer, and It’s Really Good

Fighter jets work just as well as starfighters.

When a highly anticipated trailer hits the Internet, you can expect a slew of parodies, many of them from popular YouTube channels and personalities. While the upcoming Star Wars installment has been no exception to this, our favorite parody yet comes from a pretty unexpected source: the US Navy.

Swapping X-wing fighters for Navy fighter jets, the crew of the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower have released their own mock Force Awakens trailer, entitled Sea Wars: The Ike Awakens.

It perfectly mimics scenes teased in the recent Force Awakens trailer, with crew members standing in for the roles of Rey, Finn, and Kylo Ren. BB-8 even makes a surprise appearance, this time re-imagined as a mop bucket. Franchise hallmarks such as light sabers and shooting lasers have also been doctored in.

We think it just about holds up to the actual trailer for The Force Awakens, which is out in the US Dec. 18.
