A new Google Chrome extension lets friends enjoy Netflix together remotely while taking “social distancing” safety precautions against Coronavirus.

The free-to-download “Netflix Party” app synchronizes users’ video playback and adds group chat feature with emojis and GIFs. All that’s needed is a Google Chrome browser and a subscription to the streaming service. It also can be downloaded and activated in a few simple steps:

  1. Click the “Install Netflix Party” button on Netflix Party’s website. Once you are redirected to the Chrome Web Store, click “Add to Chrome” to finish installing Netflix Party.
  2. Go to Netflix’s website. Make a selection and start playing the video.
  3. Create a party by clicking the red “NP” icon located next to the address bar. Then click “Start Party” and share the party URL to invite friends, or join a party by first opening a shared URL and then clicking the “NP” icon.

Over 500,000 people are already using Netflix Party, according to its website. Click here to get your #quarantineandchill session going after perusing all new additions to the Netflix’s library this month
