It looks like Thanos is in for a fight. In the new trailer and poster—see below—for Avengers: Endgame two things are clear. The remaining heroes are grimly determined to do something about their plight following the Finger Snap that Erased Half the Universe, and any idea there was ever an A and B team version of the Avengers is gone.

With the addition of Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel, heroes like Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner with a freaky punk ‘do), Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man, Thor (Chris Hemsworth), and Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow are ready to join Captain America (Chris Evans) in the fight and it’s all A-team, so to speak. They even have sharp new team uniforms.
A reminder as to the stakes here, via the recently-released Endgame synopsis:
Thanos snapped his fingers in Avengers: Infinity War and half the life in the universe instantly dissolved. Now a ragged group of surviving warriors, including Captain America, Black Widow, Iron Man, Thor, and the Hulk works to counteract the Mad Titan’s genocidal action.
Since our heroes couldn’t stop Thanos the first time, what makes them think they can win in a rematch? The answer may be in overwhelming power, thanks to Captain Marvel, or in the tiniest spaces between atoms accessible to Ant-Man. Avengers: Endgame will rewrite the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know it. When it’s all over, nothing will be the same.
This is for all the marbles, basically, and it’s looking like they’ve got one hell of a ringer with the arrival of Captain Marvel—and she’s obviously welcome, as Thor says at near the end, “I like this one.”
Avengers: Endgame is in theaters everywhere April 26th.
