The New ‘Ghostbusters’ Trailer Is Way Better Than The First One
More Slimer, more ghosts, and something terrible happens to Chris Hemsworth.
When the first trailer for the all-female Ghostbusters reboot was released in March, it sparked a flame war between anti-rebooters who had decided the new film was garbage and those of us who prefer to keep an open mind about it. Even though the movie is easy to defend as long as you’re not an original Ghostbusters purist, that first trailer worried many. It was not a good trailer. At all. Even Melissa McCarthy didn’t like it.

So we’re not sure why it took so damn long Sony to release a second one, but a new trailer finally dropped today — and it gives the movie a little bit more definition than the first one. And many more ghosts. Apparently, the major storyline of the Ghostbusters reboot (NOT a sequel!) is someone manipulating a device that dramatically increases supernatural activity in New York City, so these Ghostbusters have their hands full as they are confronted with situations like a giant dragon ghost perched on Leslie Jones’s shoulders.
Another big reveal in the trailer is that Chris Hemsworth’s receptionist character appears to become inhabited by spirits or demons and may even turn against the Ghostbusters. Here’s hoping they don’t have to destroy him!
Ghostbusters opens July 15.
