The New Trailer for ‘Venom’ Finally Shows Tom Hardy as Venom, And Boy Is He Ugly
Watch it now.
Back in February, when Marvel released the first teaser for Venom, it was missing something important: Venom himself. The trailer for the movie, Marvel’s followup to Spider-Man: Homecoming, only showed Academy Award nominee Tom Hardy as his character Eddie Brock.
But now, in the second trailer, which went online late Monday night, fans get a look at the symbiote Venom in his full form… and boy is he ugly.
In Venom, Hardy plays Brock, an investigative journalist who is probing the unscrupulous practices of an evil company run by a Dr. Carlton Drake (Riz Ahmed). Brock is subsequently infected by a symbiote that uses his body as a host and imbues him with some pretty ferocious super powers.
It’s clear from the creature’s behavior and its guttural growl that it’s taking the lead in this relationship.
“If you’re going to stay, you will only hurt bad people,” Brock says to Venom in the trailer.
“The way I see it, we can do whatever we want. Do we have a deal?” the symbiote growls back.
Marvel also released a new poster for Venom late Monday night, showing Hardy as half-man, half-beast.

With the physical form of Venom finally revealed, the biggest lingering question about the movie remains: Where is Woody Harrelson?
