When news of Victor Frankenstein first emerged, there were immediate doubts. Despite James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe teaming up to raise a little hell, no film in the past that has tackled this Victorian-esque horror show has fared well with critics. Sure, the story of Victor Frankenstein and his titular monster is a classic, and it’s been re-imagined so many times that someone was bound to develop a crazy concept that’ll leave audiences thankful they paid the $15 to see it. Slated for release on Thanksgiving Day, this adaptation might just be it.
This time around, tale of Frankenstein’s monster is told through assistant Igor’s (Radcliffe) perspective. Igor documents the destructive nature of his medical partner, Victor Frankenstein (McAvoy) while he attempts to bring the dead back to life. The new footage is action-packed, and there’s several moments in the electrifying trailer that had us wondering when Igor would throw back that mop of hair to reveal the lightning-shaped scar on his forehead. While this type of movie might only reach a certain demographic, we can expect theaters jam-packed with people looking for any excuse to dodge Black Friday.
Take a peek at the trailer for yourself and develop your own theories as to why Daniel Radcliffe’s hair is so goddamn long.
