Big Upset – Titans over Colts
The Colts have pole position on the first AFC Wildcard spot and they probably think they can sneak one by the Titans before their last three games, two of them against a brutal Texans team. The Titans are a mystery. CJ2K rushed for 195 yards on the Bills, but 4 yards against the Patriots, and Jake Locker couldn’t hang 200 yards on the Chargers or Dolphins but went for 300+ on the Texans and Lions. WHO ARE YOU, TITANS?!
Big Performance – Russell Wilson
It’s “home, sweet home” for the rookie QB, who has yet to drop a game at CenturyLink and returns from a road trip that concluded with a miracle win over the Bears. Look for him to go big over the sad, sad Cardinals.
Big Flop – Christian Ponder
We realize it’s no great leap to proclaim that a guy who’s passed for over 200 yards only once in the past four weeks will flop, but the combination of his mental state (losing his sweetheart Percy Harvin to the IR) and his physical state (inevitably getting steamrolled by Julius Peppers) will combine for what we like to call “Choke-topia.”
Big Storyline –Rookie QBs
This class is arguably the best we’ve ever seen, and now Luck, RG3, and Wilson are knocking on the door of the playoffs. Can Matt Barkley and Geno Smith live up to this? And how bad should Ryan Lindley feel about himself?
Big Stinker – Jets at Jaguars
We know, Jets fans, you have the most outside of chances of landing in the playoffs. Honestly, we hope you make it. This circus is fantastically entertaining – the longer it goes on, the better.
