Nicolas Cage will lead a star-studded cast in USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage, based on the true story of a military vessel that was destroyed by a Japanese torpedo during WWII.
Cage plays U.S. Navy Captain Charles McVay, who survived the initial attack and guides the remaining survivors as they try to stay afloat on pieces of the ship’s wreckage, many succumbing to shark attacks and dehydration in a truly harrowing ordeal.
Triple threat Mario von Peebles (Ali, Empire) directs, while Thomas Jane and Tom Sizemore co-star. USS: Indianapolis: Men of Courage will premiere on May 30, during Memorial Day weekend.
