Nirvanaback, anyone?

A Facebook campaign has launched to reunite Nirvana members Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat with Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger on vocals in place of the late Kurt Cobain.

Still: Facebook/Be Reet

“Be Reet,” the creator and host of the event, set the date for New Year’s Day of 2019 at “Nirvana Hair and Beauty Bar” in the United Kingdom.

“‘Nickelvana’ Tour announcement imminent. Support comes from Puddle Of Mudd, Bush and Silverchair,” Be Reet wrote in a Facebook post.

Despite the obvious unlikelihood of the concert actually happening, over 1.5 thousand people have reported that they are “going.” Another 4,000 are “interested.”

Countless others have voiced their disapproval on Twitter:

The first time Grohl, Novoselic and Smear performed Nirvana songs after Cobain’s death was during the 2014 Rock And Roll Hall of Fame ceremony, reports Spin. Even then, the Foo Fighters frontman said “something was missing.”

“I got together with my old bandmates, Krist [Novoselic] and Pat [Smear], and guests including Joan Jett and Lorde, and we played those songs again,” Grohl said. “It sounded just like it did, but of course with one thing missing. We hadn’t played a Nirvana set since Kurt died. Could we do that again? I don’t know.”

Could Kroeger fill the void? Almost certainly not. But here’s a terrible mashup of his vocal track from Nickelback’s “Photograph” mixed with Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” anyway:
