We Can’t Wait to See This Oasis Documentary

Get the full story, morning glory.

The creative team behind the knee-buckling documentary on the life and early death of Amy Winehouse are back in the studio on a new project. This time Amy director Asif Kapadia will act as executive producer with filmmaker Mat Whitecross directing for a tell-all on the career of Oasis

The distributor of the film, Independent, will have more info in the upcoming weeks, but managing director Andrew Orr spoke to Screen Daily and had this to say:

“Oasis are without doubt one of the classic British rock bands selling 70 million albums worldwide and defining the sound of a whole era.  At its heart are Liam and Noel Gallagher, two of the finest rock ‘n’ roll stars this country has ever produced. Mat’s sensibility and style are going to provide the perfect complement to this tale of the rise of one of the great rock ’n’ roll bands.”

Neither Gallagher brothers have commented on the documentary yet, but Rolling Stone reports that the creative team have been given “unprecedented access to the band and unseen archive footage.”

The friend and family interview portion of this (if there is one) is going to be amazing
