Oasis’ (What’s the Story) Morning Glory Turns 20 Today

Today is a big day. Do you know why? October 2, 2015 marks the 20-year anniversary of Oasis’ most famous album, (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?  If you are reading this and your birthday lands after October 2, 1995, please close the page and go back to filling in your chest hair with an eyebrow pencil, or whatever it was you were doing.

(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?, the band’s second album, was produced by Owen Morris and guitarist Noel Gallagher. The record propelled Oasis from being a crossover indie act to a worldwide rock phenomenon. 

The stand-out hit from the album was “Wonderwall,” which reached the top ten on thirteen charts. It topped charts in New Zealand, Australia, and the United States, and hit number two on the UK Singles Chart. The single was certified platinum by the British Phonographic Industry and certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America.
