No story about ’90s hip-hop would be complete without digging into Tupac Shakur‘s and Notorious B.I.G.’s intensely competitive friendship. It looks as though the upcoming biopic about Shakur, All Eyez On Me, serves up a pretty big helping of that drama.

The trailer features Shakur introducing Biggie to a crowd during a concert—”I think I see Biggie Smalls in the house.”

From there the hints at the drama to come only build in intensity. We see clips from Tupac’s childhood through his time in prison, when he jokes that the FBI file on him is “only 4000 pages?”—to the night of his death 21 years ago.

Trailers only give us a thumbnail of the movie to come, but we know that Tupac lived out loud and made a huge impact on the music world during his short life. If Eyez captures even half the legendary nature of his career, it will do him some justice.

All Eyez On Me premieres on what would have been Tupac Shakur’s 46th birthday, June 16, 2017.
