Netflix has dropped a new teaser for its upcoming original movie Pee-wee’s Big Holiday, and in some ways it looks as though Pee-wee’s world hasn’t changed that much. Paul Reuben certainly hasn’t — he hardly looks any different than he did when Pee-wee’s Big Adventure premiered in 1985.
And Pee-wee himself is still living in a playhouse — riding a balloon chair to the roof and skiing down to the driveway. We know very little about the plot of the Judd Apatow-produced movie — “A fateful meeting with a mysterious stranger inspires Pee-wee Herman to take his first-ever holiday in this epic story of friendship and destiny” — and it’s unclear what is so exotic to him about a traffic light. I guess we will have to wait.
Pee-wee’s Big Holiday premieres on March 18 on Netflix.
