Playlist of the Week: Pierce Fulton
Want to keep the good vibes going? Listen up.
What were you doing when you were 23 years old? Looking for a job? Living with mom and dad? Contemplating Bud Light vs. Coors Light?
Not this kid. Meet Pierce Fulton, the LA-based producer, DJ, singer, and multi-instrumentalist who’s putting 23 year-old-you to shame.
Steeped in classic rock, reggae, blues and even classical music, Fulton quickly became well known in the EDM world for his blend of original material, ambient sounds and uplifting synths at just 18-years-young. While traveling the globe performing at clubs and concerts, his 2014 banger “Runaway” reached number one on the Billboard Twitter Emerging Artists chart. Since then, the hit-maker has performed at major music festivals including Electric Zoo, Ultra, TomorrowLand and TomorrowWorld. Most recently, his latest single “No More” was featured on Spotify’s ‘New Music Friday’ and is garnering streams by the thousands.
After meeting Pierce at TomorrowWorld, we asked the DJ to curate Maxim readers a playlist that fully encompasses what he’s listening to now, what he grew up on and what inspires his music today.
“I owe a lot of my current taste to Spotify and, more so, to their Related Artists section,” Fulton told Maxim. “It’s pretty incredible that technology can still surprise you when you assume everything is already accessible and uncovered. I love not being able to find a song at first and hunting for weeks, months, sometimes years and finally discovering it.”
