Michael Keaton Kicks Ass in the Bloody and Violent Red Band Trailer For ‘American Assassin’
This is a must see.
American Assassin with its new red band trailer proves it’s not necessarily a covert prequel for The Bourne Identity. Dylan O’Brien’s CIA black ops recruit Mitch Rapp isn’t just a misguided machine wielded by the government—he’s out to kill bad people, and Michael Keaton as veteran cold warrior Stan Hurley is teaching him how.
Only it’s clear in this video that Rapp is coming into Keaton’s program with baggage he doesn’t need, the burning desire to kill any and everyone responsible for the terrorist attack that took his girlfriend.
This red band trailer definitely delivers on the ultraviolence we’d expect from a film like this, including what appears to be an underwater nuclear blast.
Also on hand is Taylor Kitsch as “Ghost,” a rogue assassin who obviously has issues with Keaton’s Hurley. So—nuclear bombs, bloodshed, lightning-fast hand-to-hand combat?
When American Assassin hits theaters on September 15, 2017, you can count us in.
