When we saw the first trailer for The Hitman’s Bodyguard, we knew we were in for something good. Samuel L. Jackson as an assassin who talks like, well, Samuel L. Jackson? Ryan Reynolds only slightly dialing back his Deadpool vibe to deliver great one-liners as the assassin’s bodyguard? The only thing we need to know is where we go stand in line.

And the red band trailer for the film—substantially different from the first, PG 13 preview—is even better. In this, for instance, we get a sense of the backstory between the characters: Jackson’s assassin has tried to kill Reynolds’s executive protection agent dozens of times. Also, Gary Oldman shows up in Evil Gary Oldman mode, which is basically the best Gary Oldman.

Samuel L. Jackson also gets to dish out a “motherfucker” or two, because obviously he does. Here’s a synopsis for the film, just for clarity’s sake:

The world’s top protection agent is called upon to guard the life of his mortal enemy, one of the world’s most notorious hit men. The relentless bodyguard and manipulative assassin have been on the opposite end of the bullet for years and are thrown together for a wildly outrageous 24 hours. During their journey from England to the Hague, they encounter high-speed car chases, outlandish boat escapades and a merciless Eastern European dictator who is out for blood.

This action-packed scenario also looks incredibly fun, given who stars in it.

The Hitman’s Bodyguard smashes into theaters on August 18, 2017.
