Ronda Rousey Hits Floyd Mayweather Where It Hurts

The UFC queen claims she makes more money than Floyd does, reveals whether she'd ever star in a porn parody, and salutes those female Army Rangers.

Ronda Rousey has thrown another rhetorical roundhouse at arch-nemesis Floyd Mayweather, calling him illiterate and claiming that she actually rakes in more cash than “Money” does in the ring, if you calculate their fights by the second.

Rousey, who was walking her dog in Los Angeles when TMZ caught up with her, alluded to Mayweather’s diss about how much more money he makes than Rousey, the UFC’s biggest star.

“I don’t know if you saw the Floyd thing, where he said, ‘If you make $300 million in a night, then you can give me a call’…and I actually did the math and given the numbers of my last fight, I’m actually the highest paid UFC fighter. And I’m a woman.”

She continued, “I think I actually make 2 to 3 times more than he does per second…so when he learns to read and write, he can text me.”

That last jab was apparently a reference to embarrassing audio leaked last year of Mayweather struggling to read a radio “drop” that was supposed to run between segments on a New York hip-hop station. (The audio even spurred Mayweather’s former friend-turned-foe 50 Cent to cruelly challenge the fighter to read a page from “Harry Potter”).

Clearly, Rousey likes to study her opponents’ weaknesses, even when the fights are purely verbal. Despite much debate over whether Rousey could beat Mayweather in a no-rules street brawl, this kind of trash-talk is as close as we’re going to get to seeing them square off.

Aside from further inflaming her feud with Mayweather, Rousey weighed in on a variety of other topics, all while sipping an iced coffee (with plenty of milk!) and wearing t-shirt with a lipsticked mouth on it:

On Joe Rogan criticizing her for fighting former boxer Holly Holm instead of Amanda Nunes:

“I don’t care. I’m going to fight them all in some sort of order. I don’t make those calls. The only fight I really asked for was Bethe [Correia] because I can’t stand her.”

On the news that two women had become Army Rangers:

“I’m really excited for them. I can’t wait ’til the Navy SEAL program follows suit. Would I ever do it? Like in another universe if I found the time? I would like to just test myself and see if I could get through it like they could.”

On training with men to prepare for her fights:

“ Except for my boxing/sparring partners, which are women world champions, the rest of the time it’s all guys.”

On that publicity stunt offer to star in a Captain Marvel porn parody.:

“I wouldn’t do it, there’s no amount of money. I think that’s a sign that you’re infiltrating culture. They made a Star Wars porn, you know?”
