Allegedly Drunk Shia LaBeouf Arrested in Austin

The actor was seen wilding out in an entertainment district.

Shia LaBeouf apparently went wild again Friday and ended up in an Austin, Texas jail for his trouble. The actor—whose drunken shenanigans saw him ejected from a Broadway production in June, 2014—was first seen by witnesses behaving strangely at an Austin bar. He and a companion who appeared to be as wasted as he was were stopped at the door, reported TMZ, so naturally LaBeouf “began swearing up a storm and tried forcing himself” into the establishment.

The 29-year-old star of classics like Transformers, Holes, and Nymphomaniac (volumes I and II) wasn’t done. A witness told TMZ LaBeouf “ran down the street and jaywalked” in full view of law enforcement. He was warned to stop. He didn’t. LaBeouf was then arrested without much incident, though People, citing an Austin police official, reported he acted “somewhat belligerent and uncooperative.”

Access Hollywood’s write-up about LaBeouf’s antics indicated he posted bail after his arrest and was released from the Travis County Jail.

LaBeouf’s drunken disruption of a performance of Cabaret in the summer of 2014 led to court mandated substance abuse treatment in March, according to Variety. A judge ordered the actor to stay in treatment for three months then be on his best behavior for six months to have the charges dropped.

We hope Shia manages to shape up and get himself straight, so maybe he can participate in more weirdness like this tale of “actual cannibal” Shia LaBeouf, which we think should probably accompany every account of him drunkenly jaywalking across an Austin street. Or doing just about anything else Shia LaBeouf-y, really.
