You Will Never Unsee the ‘Humanized’ Versions of SpongeBob and Patrick, And For That We Apologize

Damn you, internet!

Artist Miguel Vasquez is about to wreck your entire damned childhood.

Are you ready, kids? I can’t heart you!

He “who lives under a pineapple under the sea,” a.k.a SpongeBob SquarePants, was just 3D-drawn by Vasquez to look more “humanized.”

Turns out, the boundlessly optimistic yellow sponge is, in real life, a hideous fleshy monster.

His ride-or-die Patrick doesn’t look much better. As one Tweeter put it, it’s as if “King Kong fucked the Thumbs from Spy Kids.”

Vasquez told BuzzFeed that he’s been “obsessed with real-life renderings of cartoons for years” and decided to cut his teeth with the iconic Nickelodeon series.

When asked about singlehandedly destroying the collective Internet’s childhood, Vasquez mercilessly said, “That was the plan all along.”

Mission accomplished.
