Chewbacca has always been known as the outwardly intimidating, yet inwardly lovable, sidekick to Han Solo. In a never-before-seen deleted clip from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, however, everyone’s favorite Wookie shows off his more violent side.

While J.J. Abrams originally left the fate of minor villain Unkar Plutt up in the air after Rey, Finn, and BB-8 escape with the Millennium Falcon, the upcoming 3-D Blu-ray collector’s edition has this plot line thicken, as a tracking device is activated once the Falcon takes flight.

As Plutt arrives to claim the ship for himself, Solo and Chewy step in to defend their new friends. Plutt, unwisely, then begins prodding the towering, brown creature. Not the best idea.

While the clip above cuts off there, EW revealed that a continued viewing on the DVD will show that Chewy’s temper boils over, and he puts Plutt in his place—by ripping his arm clean off his body.

Despite the installment’s dark tone, it made sense to remove the scene in order to keep up Chewbacca’s cuddly reputation. At least it’s good to know it’s always wise to have a Wookie on your side.
