Entertainment Weekly has unveiled a smattering of new The Last Jedi film stills, and they tease a number of plot points from the forthcoming Star Wars installment.
One shows Rey, portrayed by actress Daisy Ridley, at the ruins of the first Jedi temple. Another shows her approaching none other than the O.G. Jedi Master, Luke Skywalker, who appears disheveled and to be in hiding.
John Boyega makes his return as new hero Finn, and Chewbacca gets friendly with a “porg,” which EW describes as a “puffin-like [creature] from the island of the first Jedi temple are cute, cuddly, and vexing to Wookiees.”
There also alien nuns in there, which writer-director Rian Johnson describes as creatures who maintain “religious order” and “tend to the ancient Jedi structures on Ahch-To.”
Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) is back, and he has badass a new starfighter. That should spell trouble for humble X-wing fighter Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac).
The new “Praetorian Guards” also make for evil new intergalactic villains.
All will be revealed on December 15, 2017, when Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters.
