Steve Harvey Completely Ruined This Year’s Miss Universe Pageant With a Cringeworthy Mistake
You had one job, Steve.
At the end of the 2015 Miss Universe pagaent, held in Las Vegas and broadcast Sunday night, Steve Harvey announced that Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez had won. The crowd burst into applause, and Gutierrez came down to accept her crown.
That’s where things got out of control. Harvey had misread the announcement card, and Gutierrez was only supposed to be the runner-up.

The audience was obviously not happy with Harvey. Here’s video from the Olivia Culpo capturing the confusion on stage and in the crowd —shouting and booing while Gutierrez and Wurtzbach stand around, puzzled.

The worst part came after the broadcast ended, when Harvey apologized for his embarrassing mistake in a tweet — and misspelled the names of both countries. He later deleted it, but the internet never forgets:
Mother of God, Steve. You had one job to do. One job.
