Lawyer shows are a dime a billion, but Suits on USA found the right balance of interesting stories and beautiful women. Centered on a genuis pretending to be a lawyer (played by Patrick J. Adams), the first season of Suits was filled with tension, lies, drugs, and more lies. Season 2, which premieres tonight, continues right where last season left off, with Jessica (Gina Torres) suspecting that something fishy is going on. We got the chance to visit the set, and learned that there are more lies to this show than just fake lawyers.

Lie #1: The cases aren’t real.

Patrick J. Adams (who plays Mike Ross):  I have a friend who’s a lawyer. He’s one those complicated lawyers. He told me what kind of law he practices, but I had no idea what it meant. It made no sense to me. He said,  “It’s a terrific show. Love it. But it is the worst legal show in the world. There is nothing about anything you do that even remotely comes close to what’s going on in law.”

Lie #2: That’s not real art! And that’s not a real office or courtroom!

Those paintings? Those are portraits of the Chris Farley/Brian Dennehy family in Tommy Boy.

The set is built inside a giant warehouse. To get around, the crew ride scooters and bikes. In a real New York law office, workers travel around on expensive shoes and floors lined with dollars.

Lie #3: Patrick J. Adams doesn’t have a photographic memory!

But he is a photographer. His photos grace the walls of the the set.

Lie #4: Rick Hoffman isn’t a jerk!

Though he plays the villainous Louis Litt on the show, in real life, he was hilarious on the set and didn’t try to sue us at all.

Lie #5: That’s not New York!

The film is shot in the outskirts of Toronto, Canada.

What’s Happening in Season 2

Gabriel Macht (Who plays Harvey Specter): My character hasn’t changed much. He’s a little bit more complicated, He’s trying to fight even harder.

Adams: The risk of my character getting kicked out is kind of settled for a bit because Jessica is now on our side.

Rick Hoffman: You can’t get a better role than what they’re writing for this guy this year.  I mean they’ve got him on a roller coaster of many different emotions. They’ve got him where he easily can be hated, but yet this season we found this real human area that wasn’t covered last year. They’re really making him a whole human being.

Will Jessica Have Sex?

Gina Torres (Who plays Jessica): Oh wouldn’t that be great! But she’s in the office all the time. And she’s tense. I joked that maybe this season Jessica was finally going to get some. You know it has to be somebody good.

Suits premieres tonight on USA at 10.

Though inaccurate in both scale and design, this is one of the most expensive and impressive models of the solar system.

You can tell it’s fake because of the subtle nutty flavor.

Text 1: “OMG! He’s raising his hand again.”

Text 2: “Totes! LOLOLOL!”

“Stand still. They won’t see us. They only detect movement!” said the hopeful plant.

You’re all like, “That is a real courtroom. For sure.” But…

Now you’re all like, “Damn! I shall never jump to conclusions again.” Maxim sends another reader down the right path of life.
