Sydney Sweeney is promoting her upcoming “nunsploitation” horror flick Immaculate with a bizarre viral video that references The Bible.

The bombshell actress, 26, posted a video in which she looks into the camera and reads the passage, “Second Kings, Chapter 2, Verses 24 to 24”.

Sweeney can be heard reading, “From there, Elisha went up to Bethel. As he was walking along the road, some boys came out of the town and jeered at him.” Sweeney adds: “’Get out of here, baldy!’ they said. ‘Get out of here, baldy!’ He turned around, looked at them and called down a curse on them in the name of the Lord. Then two bears came out of the woods and mauled 42 of the boys.”

The video predictably caused a stir on X, but it’s just another clever bit of marketing to promote the horror flick from NEON Films.

Here’s the official plot synopsis for Immaculate, which opens on March 22.

Sydney Sweeney (Anyone But You, Euphoria, The White Lotus) stars as Cecilia, an American nun of devout faith, embarking on a new journey in a remote convent in the picturesque Italian countryside. Cecilia’s warm welcome quickly devolves into a nightmare as it becomes clear her new home harbors a sinister secret and unspeakable horrors.

Brobible points out that this isn’t the first time Sweeney has employed her considerable online fan base to hype a film project. She also recorded a video of herself performing ASMR pick-up lines to market her rom-com Anyone But You, which grossed more than $200 million at the global box office.

Sweeney, fresh off her Saturday Night Live hosting gig, has a stacked promotional schedule befitting one of Hollywood’s buzziest young actresses.

In addition to the upcoming Season 3 of her HBO series Euphoria, she’s also expected to start filming her remake of the 1968 sci-fi cult classic Barbarella, rumored to be directed by Edgar Wright, who helmed Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, and Baby Driver.
