A Taken Prequel Series Is Coming

Brace yourselves for a very particular set of skills.

Taken is coming to TV.

Deadline reports that NBC has ordered a series based on the 2008 Luc Besson action thriller that found former covert operative Brian Mills (Liam Neeson) pitted against Albanian gangsters in a one-man war to rescue his captive daughter.

Little is known about the project, but Deadline reports that it will certainly be a prequel. “The series will focus on how Mills acquires his ‘very particular set of skills’ and becomes the character we all know,” reports Nellie Andreeva. “The series will bend time as it will be set in modern day, not decades in the past.”

According to Variety, Besson is attached to the series and in search of a writer and showrunner. As of now, Neeson is not involved in the show — yet.
