‘The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare’ Trailer: WWII Action/Comedy Is Based On Wild True Story

Watch the trailer inspired by the first-ever special forces unit, which was formed in WWII by Winston Churchill with the help of 007 creator Ian Fleming.

Director Guy Ritchie is serving up his signature brand of tongue-in-cheek violence with the new trailer for The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, a WWII action/comedy that follows the first-ever military black ops unit, which was created by British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and a group of military insiders including real-life spy turned James Bond creator Ian Fleming.

The film—which bears the marketing tagline, “It’s time to kick some Axis”— is based on the 2016 book The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare: How Churchill’s Secret Warriors Set Europe Ablaze and Gave Birth to Modern Black Ops by Damien Lewis.

Check out the film’s official plot synopsis here:

Based upon recently declassified files of the British War Department and inspired by true events, THE MINISTRY OF UNGENTLEMANLY WARFARE is an action-comedy that tells the story of the first-ever special forces organization formed during WWII by UK Prime Minister Winston Churchill and a small group of military officials including author Ian Fleming.

The top-secret combat unit, composed of a motley crew of rogues and mavericks, goes on a daring mission against the Nazis using entirely unconventional and utterly “ungentlemanly” fighting techniques. Ultimately their audacious approach changed the course of the war and laid the foundation for the British SAS and modern Black Ops warfare.
