Check Out The Freaky New Trailer for ‘The Purge: Election Year’

It’s time for a much-need political horror movie fix.

It looks like Frank Grillo will reprise his role as Leo Barnes in The Purge: Election Year as he endures the horrifying twelve-hour cluster fuck of government-sanctioned murder and mayhem alongside former Lost star Elizabeth Mitchell, and as always, we’re in for a bloody good time.

The new trailer reveals a fresh plot in which presidential candidate Sen. Charlie Roan (Mitchell) sets out to repeal the amendment instating the purge, 15 years after her family was legally slaughtered.

Unsurprisingly, that doesn’t fly with a whole lot of people, including a few nefarious Washington power players. Needless to say, the help of Frank Grillo is enlisted to provide security for the targeted candidate.

While it’s sure to fare well among fans, we’ll have to wait to see if to see if the third installment of the Purge franchise delivers on its political horror premise it’s released on July 4.
