Watch Tracy Morgan’s Triumphant Emmys Return

With a speech that was both poignant and hilarious, it’s great to see the comedian back on stage.

Last year, comedian Tracy Morgan was critically injured in a car accident that killed his fellow passenger and good friend, comedian James McNair. Since then, his public appearances have been limited — his first, on the Today show, was extremely emotional.

At Sunday night’s Emmys, he surprised the crowd by taking the stage to present the final award of the night for Best Drama. He started out expressing gratitude to the crowd and saying, “thanks to the support of my doctors, my family, and my beautiful new wife, I’m here — standing on my own two feet.”

He also said he was feeling more like himself, so “a whole lotta women gonna get pregnant at the after party” (a nod to one of his most hilarious TV appearances of all time). Watch his whole Emmys speech, below:

And in more excellent news, he’ll be hosting Saturday Night Live on October 17th. Welcome back, Tracy.
