Watch the First Trailer For the 20-Years-in-the-Making ‘Trainspotting’ Sequel
Your favorite Scottish junkies are finally reuniting.
All the main cast members from Trainspotting are on hand in this, the first full-length trailer for Danny Boyle’s T2: Trainspotting. They’re 20 years older, sure, but Ewan McGregor’s Mark Renton is still apparently ready to, as his voiceover says, “Choose life.” Also, “Choose Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and hope that someone, somewhere, cares.”
At the end of the first film Spud (Ewen Bremner) and Sick Boy (Jonny Lee Miller) were on the run and Begbie (Robert Carlyle) was in a rage. Renton, hopefully, was heading back to a clean life. It appears in T2 that Renton has come back and, unfortunately for him, so has Begbie, and we can safely assume he isn’t the forgiving type. This taste of what T2 may have in store has a surprising amount of the old rush felt in the original movie and a great call-back to one of Renton’s most memorable scenes.
We’re looking forward to how the story unfolds when T2: Trainspotting hits U.S. theaters on February 3.
