Trevor Noah Will Be the Next Host of The Daily Show
The 31-year-old South African comedian is replacing Jon Stewart.
Nearly two months ago, Jon Stewart announced his departure from the Daily Show after 16 years of hosting. Speculation over who would replace him ran high, and we even ran a list of our predictions. In a somewhat surprising move, the new Daily Show contributor Trevor Noah just got the promotion of a lifetime. The 31-year-old South African comedian will be succeeding Stewart after he vacates the position. Though he may not be an overly familiar face on The Daily Show, Noah is a natural choice for many reasons: He’s hilarious, charismatic, and young enough to stay in the host’s chair for several years.
