Korn’s Newest Member is Metallica Bassist Robert Trujillo’s 12-Year-Old Look-alike Son
The apple doesn’t fall far from the bass guitar.
Musical talent and all-around badassery must run heavy through the bloodline of Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo, because his 12-year-old son Tye just landed a spot standing in with one of the biggest metal acts of the last twenty years: Korn.
Via a Facebook post, the nu-metal pioneers revealed Korn’s regular bassist, Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu, will be absent from dates on their upcoming South American tour.

Tye Trujillo will be filling in to lay down Fieldy’s signature in-the-pocket groove during Korn’s gigs in Columbia, Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Peru.
You might be questioning a 12-year-old’s ability to play live in front of hundreds of thousands of people—even if he’s the son of rock god. But after you see the young shredder rip the bass line of Black Sabbath’s “N.I.B.”, any doubt you might have should disappear. Just wait for the wah…
And if you’re a Fieldy fan, don’t fret (get it?). He’ll pick up back up with the band beginning May 6 at Carolina Rebellion.
Rock on, little dude.
