Val Kilmer Is Ready To Reprise His Iceman Role in ‘Top Gun’ Sequel
“You can be my wingman any time.”
The internet erupted into a nostalgia-fueled frenzy after Tom Cruise confirmed that the long-awaited Top Gun sequel is definitely happening.
Even Iceman got in on the action. Val Kilmer, who played Tom “Iceman” Kazansky opposite Cruise in the classic 1986 blockbuster about hotshot Navy fighter pilots, posted this awesome photo to Twitter. In the caption, he took aim at his old foe, Maverick.

“I’m ready Tom!” Kilmer wrote alongside a selfie in which he was sporting an Iceman t-shirt. “Still got my top gun plaque! Still got the moves! Still got it!”
Hopefully this means that Kilmer will reprise his bro-tastic role in Top Gun 2. It just wouldn’t be the same without epic stare-downs like these:

“I’m going to start filming it probably in the next year,” he said. “It is definitely happening.”
Kilmer has always said he’d be psyched to star in the followup film.
Just last month Kilmer addressed it during a Reddit Ask Me Anything (AMA) session, during which he also revealed he had been battling cancer.
“Hell yes,” Kilmer responded to a question as to whether he was going to be in “Top Gun 2.” “What a hoot it will be…”
See you in the Danger Zone, Val.
