The Victoria’s Secret Angels Explain Net Neutrality

Here's to an open Internet and bikinis.

Yesterday, the Federal Communications Commission voted 3-2 to ensure net neutrality and “protect the open Internet.” Victoria’s Secret also aired their first Swim Special. We enlisted the stars of the latter to explain the important landmark decision.

A neutral Internet is an open platform where consumers can access all legal content equally.

Opponents of net neutrality want to allow Internet service providers (ISPs) to impose certain restrictions on content providers.

Those restrictions include charging companies to make traffic to their site load faster.

They could also slow down traffic from other sites that compete with the ISP or its subsidiaries.

Major opponents of net neutrality include Verizon, AT&T, and Comcast. Sense a pattern here?

The FCC ruling means that ISPs can’t block sites, impair traffic, or create “fast lanes” for companies that pay them.

For consumers, the net neutrality decision means that you’ll continue to have Internet service that’s not manipulated by ISPs.

And we think that’s worthy of celebration.
