It should never cease to amaze how much work individuals are willing to do, and share, basically for free. And if there were a standard bearer for Internet labors of love, it would be Andy Gilleand. A full-time student, who, in his spare hours, has edited together an Unchartedmovie trilogy. And he’s not simply slapping cut scenes together: Cleverly integrating key parts of gameplay, each “movie” really does play out like a plotted drama, which allows the story to feel more organic (and make more sense) than it would doing a play-through on your own. Plus, as a bonus, if you’ve just eaten an ounce of shrooms and can barely move, you can still enjoy a great a video game series!

Gilleand’s latest project is all five Assassin’s Creed games, totaling almost 1,000 minutes of recorded and edited footage. That’s 16 hours of Ubisoft’s masterwork made to actually kind of make sense! So if you’ve got a plane trip to Tokyo coming up, get ready to settle in for some serious assassinatin’.

Assassin’s Creed

The game that created the free-roaming, parkour adventure, assassinating, time-travel genre (not a lot of entrants so far), the first Creed was criticized for awkward combat and repetitive missions…two things you can now permanently ignore.

Assassin’s Creed 2

The second

Creed

was so large, players were often derailed from the main storyline, which made picking up where you left off a bit confusing. The great thing missing from most movies? Side quests.

Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood and Assassin’s Creed: Revelations

Like a lot of un-numbered sequels, Brotherhood and Revelations didn’t advance the main plot as much as you’d have liked (though they did advance past protagonist Ezio’s). So skip a lot of daddy drama and just view these suckers when you have time.

Assassin’s Creed 3

America’s first assassin gets a life-destroying 252 minutes of action. If you think that’s a lot of watching Connor kill redcoats, just know that Gilleand’s first edit was 20 minutes longer
