Watch This Australian Man Fly a Jetpack Around the Statue of Liberty

This is pretty damn cool.

As you no doubt remember from elementary school, the Statue of Liberty’s inscription reads, “Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.” So when Australian entrepreneur David Mayman went  looking for a place to fly his jetpack in New York City, he chose Liberty Island: what better place to roam free with your own flying machine?

Mayman’s jetpack, dubbed the JB-9, is a powerful little toy. It’s turbine-powered and can carry a regular sized human 10,000 feet into the air, flying as fast as 63 miles per hour. As it’s currently built, the JB-9 only holds enough fuel for a ten minute flight. This handy little toy won’t be replacing the airplane any time soon, but pizza delivery is about to get a whole lot faster.
