Perhaps no fashion brand is as synonymous with early 2000s-era sartorial excess as Von Dutch, whose trucker hats and graphic t-shirts were seemingly everywhere back in the day, as well as relentlessly favored by the likes of Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Tommy Lee and more.

A new Hulu docuseries lifts the lid on the seedy underbelly of the brand, which includes murder, betrayal and financial improprieties. The trailer is appropriately scored by Crazy Town’s trashy 1999 hit, “Butterfly.” Here’s an official synopsis:
“The Curse of Von Dutch: A Brand to Die For” chronicles the unbelievable true story behind the rise and fall of the 2000smost iconic fashion trend.
In this epic character-driven saga, Venice Beach surfers, gangsters, European garmentos and Hollywood movers and shakers all vie for control of the infamous brand — pushing it from obscurity to one of the most recognizable labels on Earth. After a decade of backstabbing, greed, and bloodshed, their lives – and pop culture – will never be the same.
