Watch the Incredible Trailer for the First Authorized Kurt Cobain Documentary
21 years after the Nirvana frontman’s death, a comprehensive documentary goes way behind the scenes.
Director Brett Morgan has been working on Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck since 2007, and the resulting film has been heralded as an impressively intimate look at the musician’s life. Morgan was granted total access to home videos, exclusive artwork, and unreleased Nirvana songs — making for a compelling, robust portrait of Cobain unlike any other. (One of the more compelling features is a previously unheard, 12-minute Cobain acoustic track.) The first trailer for the HBO film is a gorgeous, promising mixed-media clip that hints at the full scope of what we’ll see when it premieres on May 4th.
