This NSFW ‘Westworld’ Trailer Promises a Sexy, Intense and Very Creepy Show
Don’t fail us, HBO.
It was clear from earlier looks at HBO’s Westworld that the cable network’s upcoming series inspired by a 70s sci-fi movie would be pretty dark. The newest trailer, “Dreams,” really doubles down on that in a pretty NSFW way for a couple of orgiastic seconds.
This was, after all, the production that required extras to be ready for fun stuff like “genital-to-genital contact” and “graphic sexual situations.” Now we have a pretty good idea as to just how far the series is willing to go to tell the tale of Evan Rachel Wood’s android who slowly grows aware that she isn’t some pioneer woman in the old west, but an artificial creature built to perform in the Westworld theme park.
HBO clearly has a ton of confidence in Westworld perhaps being its perfect follow-up to the phenomenal success of Game of Thrones. As lead actor James Marsden told EW, a January delay in production “wasn’t about getting the first 10 [episodes] done, it was about mapping out what the next 5 or 6 years are going to be.”
Westworld—which also stars Anthony Hopkins and Ed Harris—premieres on Oct. 2, 2016 in the 9 p.m. slot on HBO. It looks like we’re in for a hell of a ride.
