What We’re Watching This Weekend: “Game of Thrones” Continues to Be Our Top Pick
Along with a heavy dose of baseball.
The weekend is long and full of terrors. And by terrors, we mean quality entertainment choices.
What We’re Watching Today
Shaggy came out of the woodwork to give a performance on “The Tonight Show,” and battled head-to-head with Higgins to see who could be a better Shaggy. We learned that Shaggy’s still got it and that we’re not at all nostalgic for middle school dances.

What We’re Watching on Saturday
It’s baseball season and our sports correspondent Max Rivlin-Nadler is pumped for the Mets-Yankees game (4:05 EST): “Matt Harvey is the future. C.C. Sabathia is almost certainly from the past. As their two teams go head-to-head in the subway series, there’s no greater representation of the direction of the two New York franchises than the starting pitchers for this afternoon battle. The Yankees, old and battered, are still crafty and have something to prove. The Mets, nearly unstoppable and ascendant, look to finally capture the heart of the city. Grab the popcorn, because this should be a fun one.”
What We’re Watching on Sunday
When it’s “Game of Thrones” season, we clear out our schedules for Sunday nights until it’s over (HBO, 10 EST). For those who have read the books, you’ll notice that this episode strongly diverges from the boo — in ways that could possibly get more nefarious than we ever imagined. (Good news for our weekly “Game of Thrones” Death and Sex Counter, though.)
“Mad Men” also continues its strong final run (AMC, 10 EST), so make sure you have the DVR ready.
