Rapper Wiz Khalifa is the latest to jump on the bandwagon of Netflix’s immensely popular horror show Stranger Things with a new song (also called “Stranger Things”) that turns the show’s eerie, synth-laden theme into a banging hip-hop track.
He didn’t exactly knock himself coming up with the song’s title or its chorus, which repeats the word “stranger” about five thousand times, but the effect is oddly hypnotic.
“It’s like I’m talking to a stranger, A stranger, a stranger, a stranger. Now everybody getting stranger, They’re stranger, they’re stranger, they’re stranger.”
We’re not sure how the show’s young stars would like it, and it’s not nearly as clever as Wiz’s weed-themed reworking of Adele’s “Hello,” but we’ve got to give Wiz and guest rapper J.R. Donato props for making the first hip-hop twist of the show’s now-ubiquitous theme.
