A Night Out: Model Xenia Deli On Finding the Best Old Fashioned, Gnocchi and DJs in LA

And yes, the leading lady of Justin Bieber's latest video is still single.

We have to admit, we caught a bit of a schoolboy crush on Xenia Deli, the 25-year-old Moldovan model who played Justin Bieber’s love interest in the new video for ‘What Do You Mean’ She’s a former Victoria’s Secret model, she has an amazing body, and she happens to be single.

Yes, you heard us: single.

“There’s no guy right now,” she told Maxim over the phone a few days after the video debuted (you remember her, she was the one in the Calvin Klein Underwear bra). That’s got to be some of the best news we’ve heard this week.

“I never thought I could be a model,” the brunette told us of her current profession. “I thought I was a pretty girl but I didn’t think that was enough. I really thought models had to be tall and all these things but I found I was wrong.”

Indeed she was. After starting in the industry at age 20, Deli’s enjoyed a remarkable rise over the last four years.  These days she’s bouncing back and forth between Los Angeles and New York for work in a lifestyle that has her totally shirking her original dream of being a teacher.

“My major at university was foreign literature back home in [Moldova] and I wanted to be a teacher because I love kids,” she laughs. “I’m not sure I want to be a teacher now. It’s hard to imagine my life without modeling; every day you get to be beautiful and have people admire your pictures. I’m not sure I could live without that.”

Instead, Deli hopes to take the Cara Delevinge route and parlay her success into film.  Counting The Notebook as her favorite movie (“I’ve probably watched it 10 times but every time I’m crying like I’ve seen it for the first time”), Deli’s already taking acting classes to pursue what she’s sure will be her next passion. It seems that interlude with Bieber was just the beginning.

Though she’s a self-admitted homebody (“I love playing chess”) , Deli gave us the skinny on the City of Angels. Find out where to get the best Old Fashioned and how to really finish up your night in LA.

You can’t go wrong with a classic Old Fashioned. Deli suggests aiming for that at the SoHo house bar, lofted 14 stories above the ground.

If Lil Kim, Rihanna and Jennifer Lopez can party here so can you. “They have the best DJs!” Deli squealed.

Best After-Hours Spot: Equinox

When your appearance means everything, a hard night out on the time has to be worked off. Deli turns her nightcap into a workout at Equinox, which isn’t uncommon for models (if you join her you might find quite a few others flitting about). And if you decide to snooze by the fire pit instead, no one will blame you.

Best Place for Brunch: Il Pastaio

When it’s all said and done, brunch the next day is the ultimate cure. Deli says Il Pastaio is your best choice: “Their gnocchi is to die for!”
