You’ll Never Guess What Yoenis Céspedes Is Going to Do to His $7,000 Pig

Hint: PETA is not pleased.

When news broke that New York Mets slugger Yoenis Céspedes dropped $7,000 on a 270-pound grand champion pig over the weekend, one couldn’t help but wonder what the man would do with it. Perhaps he’d ride it practice, like he did with a cadre of comic book-worthy cars last week and horse on Tuesday. Perhaps he’d keep it as a pet. Perhaps he’d send it to a butcher and eat the damn thing.

Yep, that’s the one!

Some enterprising journalist has already called up PETA to get the group’s take on the planned pig out. The statement laments Céspedes choice to eat the pig rather than send it to an animal sanctuary and ends with this: “We’re sending Cespedes some delicious vegan bacon in the hope that he’ll open his heart, not clog it with pig fat.” A nice gesture, but unfortunately it’s too late.
