Bruichladdich Distillery is upgrading its single malt Scotch portfolio with a pair of eco-conscious aged whiskies from a new “Luxury Redefined” series.

The first release features two single malt Scotches aged for Eighteen and Thirty years. The bottles notably come in fully compostable packaging made from Colourform, a paper pulp material, molded to the shape of a Bruichladdich bottle.

The environmentally-inclined boxings are designed to represent “a new definition of luxury, one that reduces CO2 impact and stands out amongst a sea of beige and wood.”

The Bruichladdich Eighteen, which retails for $179.99, is described as “an ultra-high provenance single malt that is classically Bourbon-forward with notes of green fruits and gooseberry.”

Meanwhile, the truly covetable Bruichladdich Thirty, which clocks in at $1,999.99, features aged whisky from pre-renaissance casks, meaning the time period in which Bruichladdich distillery was shuttered from 1994 to 2001. This pricy all-Islay expression possesses notes of “dark chocolate and honey.”
