Budweiser is once again joining forces with Jim Beam bourbon with its new Black Lager, a bold, dark brew that packs a stiff 7.1 % alcohol by volume.

The hearty specialty beer is the second special edition collaboration from Bud and Beam, joining the Budweiser Reserve Copper Lager that is back for another limited run while supplies last.

Like the Copper Lager that came before it, the Budweiser Reserve Black Lager is aged on real Jim Beam bourbon barrel staves. The dark-hued brew boasts a deep auburn color, an oaky aroma redolent of coffee and chocolate, and a sweetly toasted malt taste. Its smooth finish is clearly aimed at beer drinkers (and bourbon fans) looking for something with a richer flavor profile than  Bud or Bud Light.

“Budweiser Reserve Copper Lager proved that when Budweiser and Jim Beam collaborate, good things happen,” said Ricardo Marques, VP of Marketing Core & Value Brands at Anheuser-Busch.

Budweiser Reserve’s Black and Copper Lagers.

“For the second collaboration between Bud and Beam, we wanted to brew something unique that would excite both beer lovers and bourbon aficionados. Budweiser Reserve Black Lager is a bold, bourbon-forward beer that’s perfect for the holidays.”

Budweiser Reserve Black Lager is available nationwide this October through December, while supplies last. Budweiser Reserve Copper Lager is available through March 2020.

Both brews will be available in stubby glass bottles across the country. Black Lager will also be available in a premium 22 oz. “bomber bottle gift box.”
