The Best Cigars Of 2022
The best stogie of 2022 is “one of the best-kept secrets in the Cuban cigar world,” according to Cigar Aficionado.
Cigar smokers can officially get fired up for a definitive list of the year’s top stogies.
After tasting, examining and rating nearly 750 cigars, the editors at Cigar Aficionado magazine have tapped the H. Upmann No. 2 as their 2022 Cigar of the Year.
For the annual Top 25 list, Cigar Aficionado puffs up their highest-scoring cigars of the year, typically 91 points and higher, and subjects these fine stogies to yet another test by the magazine’s tasting panel. The cigars are repurchased at retail, stripped of their identifying bands and blind-tested through multiple rounds of tastings.
“This year’s winning cigar is one of the best-kept secrets in the Cuban cigar world,” the mag said in a statement announcing its top pick. “Like many Cuban cigar brands that are still on the market today, H. Upmann has a long history that spans more than 178 years and has managed to thrive despite changes in ownership, bankruptcy and a political revolution.”
“Made in Havana, smoking the H. Upmann No. 2 is a fully engaging experience with a room-filling aroma and mouth-filling texture that allows one to luxuriate in its layers of nutmeg, cinnamon and salted peanut flavor, all of which intensify, while, at the same time, showing a delicate floral quality that adds superb balance in a way that no other cigar this year could.”
