French’s Launches Mustard Ice Cream to Celebrate National Mustard Day
It’s the summer ice cream flavor that absolutely no one asked for.
Mustard purveyors French’s have announced they are branching out into ice cream. As in, yes, French’s Mustard Ice cream.
Of course there’s a reason for this, aside from just making everyone stare blankly before asking you if it’s a joke: Saturday, August 3 is National Mustard Day.
Naturally, this extremely tangy treat is a limited-edition deal, one French’s developed in conjunction with Coolhaus Ice Cream.
In a press release Coolhaus CEO Natasha Case said that as “lovers of sweet-meets-savory, pure ingredients and unique creations, we are incredibly excited to be collaborating with French’s Mustard in creating this one-of-a-kind product.”
“It’s been so fun to explore this classic condiment in a whole new way,” Case said, “and create an unforgettable thoughtfully-crafted ice cream flavor with an All-American taste.”
If for some reason this triggers your tastebuds and you are now lusting for ice cream that would taste great on a hot dog, you’re out of luck unless you live in Los Angeles or New York City. French’s Mustard Ice Cream will only be available in those cities and for a limited time.
You can read the press release here for further details. Whatever you do, get out on Saturday and celebrate the most summery condiment, whether it’s a frozen treat you can eat with a pretzel cookie or the usual refrigerated kind, which should only ever be spread on ‘dogs and burgers. Not the dessert plate.
