We’ve caught wind of dream jobs that pay “workers” handsomely to eat BBQ across America, sell books to A-listers in the Maldives and vacation at Mexico’s most luxurious resorts. But this “Pizza Taste Tester” position might be the most mouthwatering.
Outdoor appliance company Ooni (formerly “Uuni”) wants 10 lucky part-time employees to test recipes and cook pizzas in their Uuni 3 and Uuni Pro home ovens.
The portable, wood-fired “pizzarias” are capable of pumping out 13 or 16-inch pies in just 60 seconds. Plus they look great next to your backyard grill.
Hired individuals will be responsible for “recipe development, product testing and brand ambassadorship” as they provide feedback to Ooni, post about their work on social media and, of course, make pizza.
Anyone from home cooks to professional chefs may apply. Payment ranges from $300-$1,000 per day depending on their abilities. Those who bring more to the table—like experience in high-quality video production—could make even more.
“We’ve set the base rate at $300, because we understand that developing one’s ability to make fantastic pizza takes time and energy to hone your craft; this rate would be appropriate for someone who is a passionate home cook who hasn’t worked professionally, and who understands how to make and stretch their own dough,” a representative from Ooni told Travel + Leisure.
Travel + Leisure has further details on the position:
Ooni will directly ship its ovens to each candidate, as well as covering expenses for any ingredients used for recipe testing.
There are no set number of days chosen testers will be required to work, though the company is hoping to find people willing to work at least two days a month at a schedule of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a one-hour break for lunch in between.
If this is the gig for you, submit a one-minute video no larger than 20 MB that explains why and shows off your pizza know-how to jobs@ooni.com by Sunday, October 14.
Good luck!
