Momentous occasions call for a suitably momentous toast, and better still if that toast features one of three new distinct, cask-finished and ultra-aged tequilas from Maestro Dobel.

The latest round of tasteful additions to the Maestro Dobel 50 Anniversary Series follows on the heels of 2022’s Maestro Dobel 50 1967, featuring a luxe, sherry cask-finished extra añejo commemorating the 50th birthday of founder Juan Domingo Beckmann.

And yet, the ante has been upped even further this time around, with a new trio paying homage to 1968, 1969 and 1970.

These additions to the Maestro Dobel 50 Anniversary Series are handcrafted from single-family estate, 12-year-old agave that’s then aged for a minimum of seven years in oak barrels.

Maestro Dobel used American oak barrels for Maestro Dobel 50 1968, American and French oak barrels for Maestro Dobel 50 1969, and French oak barrels for Maestro Dobel 50 1970.

Maturation continues with additional time in Armagnac, Sauternes, and Amarone casks, respectively, for finishing that further develops this luscious Maestro Dobel trio of releases.

For as much as Maestro Dobel has experimented with cask finishing in the past, the series of luxurious new releases is the first time they’ve used Armagnac, Sauternes and Amarone casks.

The distinctive trio of finishing casks imparts unique flavor profiles for innovative aged tequila.

Each addition to its unique tequila portfolio brings something new to the table, and the Armagnac finish of the 1968 expression should prove particularly nuanced.

The 1969 edition, on the other hand, offers a very well structured and complex body with a pleasant feeling of warmth and a very long aftertaste.

And a robust and harmonious palate on the 1970 expression owes its distinct character to French oak aging and its Amarone barrel finish.

Each offering (for $950 per bottle) delivers a masterful tequila sipping experience befitting a 50-year (and counting) milestone: Look to outfit your bar cart accordingly.
